Precinct Update from Reigate & Banstead

“We apologise for the delay in completing our works to the pedestrian precinct. While we completed the vast majority of the scheme within our planned programme, unfortunately we have experienced unexpected delays in the supply of the street furniture that we ordered many months ago. Just as soon as everything is delivered however we will be able to put the finishing touches to the precinct. We anticipate that we will be able to do this within the next couple of weeks.

As a pedestrian zone, the Council does not want vehicles entering the precinct when they shouldn’t be. We cannot currently enforce against people parking in the precinct for at the moment there are no waiting restrictions in place. However the good news is that Surrey County Council will be introducing parking restrictions within the precinct in October, which will enable the Borough Council to enforce.

In addition we have supplied two dedicated loading bays for delivery vehicles to use – one on Albert Road and another behind the shops.”
