Temporary Footpath Closure

On 26 September 2019 Surrey County Council will make a temporary order to prohibit all traffic on foot entering or proceeding along Footpath No. 362c (Horley) from its junction with Footpath 411 (Horley) in a southerly direction for 783m.

The Order is necessary by reason of works being carried out on the footpath. It will be in operation from 30 September 2019 until 30 March 2020 or until completion of the works, if earlier, and while the relevant notices are displayed. The Secretary of State for Transport can extend that period if required.

The temporary closure will only operate while the County Council, or an authorised person acting on its behalf, displays signs prohibiting the said movements. Access to properties will not be affected.

The alternative route from the northern end of the closure will be to proceed in a north westerly direction along Footpath 411 (Horley) for approximately 168m to its junction with the permissive alternative route.  Turn left onto the permissive route and follow the marked path in a south westerly and then generally south easterly direction to its junction with Footpath 362c.  From the southern end of the closure, the alternative will be the reverse of the route described above.

The ‘Surrey County Council Public Footpath No. 362c (Horley) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2019’ will be made by the County Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
