Update from Surrey Highways re road closures

Message from Surrey Highways:

The works in Russell Crescent are part of the water mains replacement works which will have an effect on the Victoria Road closure. The company are altering water mains until 24/07/15 before the closure begins on Victoria Road the following week.

Victoria Road closure o/s Waitrose - This begins on Monday 27/07/15 to 04/09/15 to allow water company to move out of Russells Crescent & install new mains within the closure area which is between junctions of Russells Crescent & Consort Way East. The main traffic signals controlling this junction will be switched out to allow traffic to go around the diversion route. (Russells Crescent & Massetts Road). Consort Way East will have a temporary set of traffic signals installed at the junction with Victoria Road  to allow traffic to move in & out of the roads.  

Balcombe Road under the Gatwick link bridge. - This is an emergency road closure by SGN which was issued due to the location of the main being in the centre of the road & 3 meters in depth. Traffic was therefore unable to pass the works. Diversion was agreed with Sussex County Council & gas company have been working the site every day between 07.30 & 18.00 weekdays 09.00 to 15.00 Saturdays. The site is due to close on 24/07/15 with the road re-opening to traffic.

Balcombe Road/Smallfield Road crossroads. - This is another emergency to repair a sewer failure by Thames Water in the carriageway. Traffic is being controlled by multi way temp traffic signals. The permit commenced on 20/07/15 to 31/07/15. The temp signals are being manual operated during peak hours.
