Horley Town Council named Fields in Trust Partner of the Year

Horley Town Council has won a prestigious Partner of the Year Award at the 2014 Fields in Trust Awards Ceremony on 3 December 2014 for its work in maintaining the Horley Recreation Park to such a high standard.  The Town Council fought off fierce competition from fellow shortlisted Town and Parish Councils Davenham Parish Council in Cheshire, Llantwit Major Town Council in Vale of Glamorgan and Shenstone Parish Council in Staffordshire.
Fields in Trust was founded in 1925 by King George V. Supported by both Royal Charter and active royal patronage the charity aims to ensure everyone in the UK has access to outdoor recreational space.

Helen Griffiths, Chief Executive of Fields in Trust, said: ‘We are so pleased by the hard work and enthusiasm of Horley Town Council for the vital work of protecting and improving outdoor recreational space for future generations to enjoy. We hope other landowners will follow their committed example.  Awards were also given for Partner of the Year in other categories, Getting Active on a Fields in Trust site, Love Your Field, Best Have a Field Day, Inclusion Award, and Fields in Trust Community Champion.
