Horley in Bloom Awards Ceremony

The Town Council held its Awards Ceremony for the Horley in Bloom and other associated competitions at Regent Hall on Friday 27 September.

Awards were presented to the winners of various categories in the Horley in Bloom competition, including Best Back Garden, Best Allotment and the new Photographic Competition, sponsored by Barratt Homes. Awards were also presented to winners of the Court Lodge in Colour and Horley Flower Club competitions.

Town Awards were presented to two individuals who were nominated by the public. These awards are for any individual who is considered to have given exceptional service and commitment to the town. Awards were presented to Miss Ann Middlecote and PC Ian Yeo.

Ann Middlecote

Ann has been a devoted and loyal Clerk to Smith’s Charity, Horley for over forty years, giving support to the Trustees, way beyond the call of duty. She has shown loyal service to this worthy cause, which has enabled local residents to benefit from the Charity.

PC Ian Yeo

Ian has been nominated for this Award for his exceptional years of service to the town of Horley. Ian has been described as “an all round nice bloke and a good cop who knows virtually everyone in the town and is well respected by the community and colleagues alike.”
