Repeated Success in South & South East in Bloom

We are delighted to announce that Horley Town Council has again won two prestigious awards at this year’s South & South East in Bloom Awards Ceremony, which was held in Tunbridge Wells last Wednesday. We were very pleased to receive a Silver Gilt Award for the Town Centre for the third year and, for the fifth year running, a Silver Gilt Award was also won for Horley Recreation Ground, both areas receiving much improved marks. The judges said that Town Councillors “have a passion about their town centre and the fact that Councillors use their own time to litter pick and inspect play equipment is to be commended.”

Cllr Richard Olliver, Chairman & Town Mayor, and Deputy Town Clerk Carol Fenton received the awards from the Blue Peter gardener, Chris Collins. Cllr Olliver said, “I was very pleased to again receive two Silver Gilt Awards and I was delighted that our marks improved. My thanks go to all those who keep our Town Centre and open spaces looking so splendid.”

The Town Council will be holding its own Awards Ceremony for the Horley in Bloom and other associated competitions, including the new Photographic Competition, at the end of this month. This will take place at Regent Hall on Friday 27 September.
