Annual Town Public Forum 2025 & Town Award Presentation
Horley Town Council’s Annual Town Public Forum – 16 May 2025
The Annual Town Public Forum of Horley Town Council, held on 16 May 2025 was very well attended. Members of the public received a range of updates and reports from the Council, including presentations on the Smith’s Charity Horley, St Bartholomew’s Church and from the Community Foundation for Surrey on the Horley Edmonds Community Fund. The Annual Report for 2024/25 was also presented along with updates from the Council Chair and Committee Chairs.
The Guest Speaker this year was a representative from KSS Air Ambulance Charity, who delivered an informative and engaging presentation on their vital work in and around the Horley area. The Council was pleased to make a donation of £500 to the KSS Air Ambulance Charity.
Another special highlight of the evening was the presentation of a Town Award to David Edge, in recognition of his exceptional and long-standing service to the community through his leadership of the Redhill Corps of Drums and Band.

Part of David’s citation reads:
“Dave Edge has been Bandmaster of the Redhill Corps of Drums & Band since 2005, having been involved since its formation in 1981. Under his leadership, the Band has supported countless community events, including the Horley Carnival and Remembrance Services, where he has led the marching band each year and arranged buglers for The Last Post at services and memorials. He has mentored numerous young musicians—many starting as young as eight—and helped them grow in confidence and skill. Thanks to Dave’s dedication and passion, the Band remains a welcoming, inclusive group that continues to make a significant contribution to the local community.”
