Free Home Energy Surveys

What is the Leaky Homes Roadshow?

Trained Energy Champions from Energy Action Redhill and Reigate are conducting individual energy efficiency surveys of local homes across East Surrey.

Each home taking part in the Roadshow will receive:

  • Thermal images of your home - showing where heat is leaking

  • Tailor-made advice and a written report about ways you can improve the energy efficiency and comfort of your home and potentially save on bills

  • A personalised smart pack of energy efficiency materials to help with minor improvements

  • Where suitable, we will signpost you to current funding schemes to help with larger energy efficiency measures

How much does it cost?

The survey is free of charge to all eligible households.

This is thanks to funding from the Local Energy Advice Demonstrator project run by Surrey County Council, in partnership with the Greater South East Energy Hub.  We have also been funded by UK Power Networks in order to provide energy efficiency materials.

However, in order to reach as many households as possible, we are asking people who can afford it to make a donation of £25.  This donation is entirely voluntary and will be recycled back into the project to enable us to deliver more surveys.

How do I take part?

Click on the "Request Survey" button to register your interest.

This will take you to a Survey Request form where we will ask for some background information about your home and your energy use.

It would be helpful if you have your energy bills to hand and if you know the EPC rating of your home.  (Check here if you are not sure: www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate).  However, if you are unable to find this information, you can leave these questions blank and we will follow up at the survey).

We will get in touch to arrange a suitable date and time and to confirm the names of the two Energy Champions who will attend.  (Please note that we conduct most surveys in the evening in order for the thermal imaging to work.  If necessary we can attend during the day, but thermal imaging will not be possible.)

The survey will take around 45 minutes to one hour.  We will provide some advice on the night and we carry a selection of energy efficient tools and materials that will be available on the night.  We aim to follow up within two weeks of the survey with your written report and any larger insulation materials that are required.
