Job Vacancy - Parks & Recreation Assistant

The Town Council is seeking to recruit an experienced part-time Parks & Recreation Assistant on a permanent part-time contract. The role will be to support the full requirements of the Leisure Committee, to assist with grounds maintenance contracts including the overall operation of all parks and recreational spaces which are owned or managed by the Town Council. There will also be the requirement for event management, website updates on leisure matters and assisting members of the public when necessary. The position is for 25 hours per week (expected to be 5 hours per day over 5 days, Monday-Friday), to include a requirement to attend and facilitate meetings of the Leisure Committee which are normally held on Tuesday evenings.


The successful applicant should be able to demonstrate previous administrative experience in an office-based environment, IT skills and strong interpersonal skills. A knowledge of local government would be desirable or a willingness to learn about it and attend training events.
