Cafe in the Park Update
We are pleased to advise that we are approaching the final phases of the Café construction and associated external works at Horley Recreation Ground. The adverse weather conditions and persistent heavy rainfall have caused some unavoidable delays to the programme timetable but we anticipate that partial handover of the Café build to the Town Council will be by the end of March.
Following this, the fit out of the building may commence, to provide a comfortable, inviting environment to sit, relax and sample a wide-ranging tasty menu from locally sourced produce. As well as the indoor Cafe, there will be a pleasant, spacious outdoor seating area to enjoy in fine weather and take in the impressive views out over the park. The many recreational facilities the park now provides will also be close by, plus an ever-growing list of outdoor activities and community events ahead to bring the Horley community together!
The extension to the car park will be completed as the final phase of the project. It is hoped that there will be minimal disruption during this time but the continued co-operation from park users and the general public would be appreciated. More information will follow in due course along with details of the official opening of the new Café which we anticipate will be in the Spring.
We hope that the Town Council’s capital works project to provide the Café Pavilion, toilets, extended car park and new pathways will bring a fresh new perspective to Horley Recreation Ground and an even more welcoming place to visit. This is an exciting new venture which aims to create a vibrant community hub and a great asset to Horley with something for everyone.
