Church Meadows is an area of meadowland and grassed open spaces.  It is situated south west of St Bartholomew’s Church.  The River Mole, which runs along its western edge, forms the county boundary between Reigate & Banstead Borough Council and Mole Valley District Council.  Recent community action to remove Himalayan Balsam now shows the river off to its full advantage during the summer months. The site has a stunning wild flower meadow in the summer, as well as areas of natural long grass and is well used for picnics and relaxation by local residents and visitors from the many nearby guest houses.  Local fishermen also fish here.
Future Use:  Church Meadows is identified as part of the Horley Green Chain, a belt of public open spaces (which are in the flood plain and thus not developable) which will help meet Horley’s needs for informal recreation and leisure.
