Slight change to the plan for this Saturday morning…I have just visited The Fieldings this morning and the vegetation is still quite short and it will be difficult to cut with the grass scythes at the moment, so we will use these there in April instead.

There are though, a number of other tasks that we can still carry out, including;

  • Digging up some of the Common Docks that are spreading at The Fieldings
  • Clearing Brambles and Sycamore saplings around Tanyard Pond to encourage the Bluebells to spread
  • Felling and clearing two medium sized Willows that have blown down across the paths in the woods recently
  • Replacing one of the fence posts by Tanyard Pond
  • Litter pick (if necessary).

I will still meet you all at The Fieldings at 0945 and we can wheelbarrow the kit around to the pond from there…The attached photo is of Common Lungwort, which  is currently in flower at The Fieldings and I also saw a Short Tailed Vole by Tanyard Pond.

There is light rain forecast for Saturday morning, but because the weather is so changeable at the moment, the task will still go ahead and we will see how it goes…we can always stop earlier if need be.
