Horley Edmonds Community Fund

About the fund

The Horley Edmonds Community Fund is a local fund that has been established with a capital sum from a bequest to Horley Town Council by the late Cyril Edmonds, a well-known builder who lived in Norwood Hill. It is a charitable fund specifically for the benefit of Horley and its residents.

By working in partnership with the Community Foundation for Surrey, we aim to offer a fund that enables and encourages local giving so that as a town we can develop a greater capacity to respond to local issues.

The aim of the fund is to provide the town of Horley with a sustainable source of funding that, will over time, make a significant contribution to meeting the charitable needs of the community.

The purpose of the fund is to support local charities, voluntary and community groups and individuals in need who reside within the parish boundary of Horley. More information about the fund is avalable directly from the Community Foundation for Surrey website.

The Annual Report for 2016 is available here.

How it works:

The Communitry Foundation awards grant applications out of the income generated from the fund to support people, projects and activities within our community as long as they meet the Fund criteria.

How To Give

The Horley Edmonds Community Fund is professionally managed through the Community Foundation for Surrey which, for a nominal fee, handles all the administration, obtains the tax relief and match funding, makes grant payments and manages the investment of our Permanent Fund.

Your donation is an effective way of giving because the Community Foundation for Surrey can claim Gift Aid on all eligible donations. It also provides a tax effective way of meeting the needs of the village. All donations will be handled in the strictest of confidence.

Could you help build our Community Fund?

The Fund enables people who love Horley to donate money for the exclusive benefit of the town and its people. With your help we can help build a stronger community by supporting something that can make impact locally and that will empower Horley to help itself. The more our Fund grows, the more grants we can give out to meet the needs of our town.

Match funding

Through the Community Foundation for Surrey we have been able to secure match funding from the Government's Community First programme. We are able to match every £2 donation to the Fund with a further £1 making your donation go even further. If you are a tax payer we can also claim Gift Aid on your donation which means it will nearly double in size.

For example:

A donation of £500 + Gift Aid of £125 + match funding of £250 = £875

How to Donate:

They can be donated as gifts of cash, legacies, shares, property or land. If you would like to donate please call the Community Foundation for Surrey on 01483 478092
