Horley History Society: Series of Forthcoming Talks

25th January 2018, 7:30 pm
Horley Methodist Church Hall, Victoria Road, Horley

HLHS is a long established group dedicated to studying, researching and recording the history of Horley and the immediate area. We have published many books on various aspects of Horley history and also a number of booklets which are accessible to the public in Horley Library.

Present membership is about 88-90 and membership is charged at £7 per annum (£10 for couples).

We meet on the 4th Thursday of each month (not August) at 7.30 for 8.00pm start at Horley Methodist Church Hall in Victoria Road. Visitors are welcome for a nominal £1 entry fee.

Talk subjects are mainly Horley related but sometimes reflect National issues. In 2018 the first four talks are

  • 25th January:  The centenary of Votes for Women and its impact on Horley.
  • 22nd February:  Our AGM and The History of 'The Horley' motor car.
  • 22nd March: The centenary of The RAF.
  • 26th April;  Rarely seen old photos of Horley.
